Wetland Symposium Will Feature Conservationists and Developers

February 17th meeting will focus on wetland regulations and conservation options and incentives

 COLUMBIA, SC, January 27, 2004–The South Carolina Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) and the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will host “The Wealth in South Carolina ’s Wetlands,” a symposium which will explore the roles wetlands play in our environment and other topics such as tax incentives, land trust programs, and conservation programs. The February 17th event will take place at Seawells in Columbia , South Carolina , and will include lunch. Also on the program will be a developer and a landscape architect to illustrate real life examples on how communities and wetlands can coexist in harmony. This symposium is for developers, engineers, landowners, land use planners, government officials, and others interested in wetland regulations and conservation options.
