Lynches River Watershed

The total estimated area in the Lynches River Watershed is 881,202 acres.  This watershed is located in the Northeastern Counties of South Carolina.  The watershed area is located in the Sandhills Coastal Plains.

The land uses in this watershed consist of irrigated cropland, dry cropland and pastureland.  The topography ranges from gently rolling hills to flat river terraces. The soils range from generally well drained to moderately well drained.

There are 1,070 farms within this watershed, and the average farm size is 234 acres.  Cropland consists of 243,900 total acres and pastureland consists of 38,400 total acres.
