Saluda River Watershed

The total estimated area in the Saluda River Watershed is 1.6 million acres.  This watershed is located in southern South Carolina. The watershed area is located in the Piedmont.

The land uses in this watershed consist of irrigated cropland, dry cropland and pastureland.  The soils range from generally well drained soils to moderately well drained.

There are 2,487 farms within this watershed, and the average farm size is 148 acres.  Cropland consists of 100,000 total acres and pastureland consists of 200,000 total acres.
