South Fork Edisto River Watershed

The total estimated area in the South Fork Edisto River Watershed is 557,227 acres.  This watershed is located in southern South Carolina. The watershed area is located in the Upper Coastal Plain.

The land uses in this watershed consist of irrigated cropland, dry cropland and pastureland.  The topography ranges from gently rolling hills to flat river bottom.  The soils range from generally well drained soils to moderately well drained.

There are 721 farms within this watershed, and the average farm size is 195 acres.  Cropland consists of 167,600 total acres and pastureland consists of 30,200 total acres.
