FY 2004 PROJECTED FARM BILL ACTIVITY SCHEDULE

SOUTH CAROLINA

 

CONSERVATION RESERVE PROGRAM (CRP)

  •     Regular Sign-up (If signup is authorized)
  •     All contracts completed before or not later than August 2,2004
  •     Continuous sign-up – For environmentally sensitive practices  
  •  Plans and contracts need to be developed shortly after sign-up

 

ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INCENTIVES PROGRAM (EQIP)

  •     Continuous sign-up: Cut off for prioritizing funding – February 2, 2004.
  •     Ranking of applications completed and applications entered into ProTracts by April 16, 2004.  
  •     All contracts completed before or not later than June 1, 2004.

 

WILDLIFE HABITAT INCENTIVES PROGRAM (WHIP)

  •     Continuous sign-up: Cut off for prioritizing funding – February 2, 2004.
  •     Ranking of applications completed and entered into ProTracts by April 16, 2004.
  •     All contracts completed before or not later than August 2, 2004.

 

WETLAND RESERVE PROGRAM (WRP)

  •     Continuous sign-up:  Best opportunity for funding if application is submitted to NRCS by February 2, 2004.  We are currently having applications appraised.

 

GRASSLAND RESERVE PROGRAM (GRP)

  •     Is on hold at this time.  We are still waiting on a rule.  Continue to take names and numbers of interested landowners so we can contact them once we can move forward.
